Hi, I’m Nikki, the owner and founder of Barnstone Farm products. As a midwife, I started off trying to create products that would be good for expecting mamas. What I soon realized is that these beautiful plant allies are good for so much more of our lives than just the nine short (or long!) months of pregnancy.

About the Plants


Barnstone Farm tinctures focus on using plants that are grown at Barnstone Farm without the use of any chemicals (I’d call the organic, but I’m not interested in paying for that certification) or which are foraged from nearby, trusted properties. Because of this, plants are used when they are as fresh as possible, and my production footprint is pretty small. So while I believe that there are many plants in the world that could help accomplish the same goals as those found in Barnstone tinctures, my aim is to keep things as close to home (and the source!) as possible

About the Tinctures

Barnstone Farm tinctures are made with 80 proof alcohol and a touch of raw, local honey. I choose to utilize alcohol since it is a high enough proof that it has a very long shelf life, and it also utilizes the extraction properties of both alcohol and water, which means getting the most goodness out of the plants. Likewise, honey also has a very long shelf life and takes the edge off the sharpness of the alcohol.

The plants are allowed a long, slow tincture to give the menstrums time to work their magic on the plant material.
